Biography of Emma Roberts
Emma Roberts is famous American actress , singer and model. She was born on February 10, 1991 at Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York. She is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and his ex-girlfriend Kelly Cunningham. She is the niece of actresses Julia and Lisa Roberts. She became popular among the fans from her role as Addie Singer in the television series of Unfabulous. In her early childhood days she uses to spend lot of time with her Aunt Julia Roberts on the set of her movies. She was very much inspired from her aunt and oriented right from her childhood to be a successful actress like her. She got her first break at the age of nine when she was offered a small role of young girl Kristina Sunshine Jung in movie ‘Blow’ which was released in April 2001.
After her first movie release she appeared as young sweet girl Delilah in short television film ‘Big Love’. In the same year she worked with her aunt Julia in movie America’s Sweethearts in which she appeared as a sweet little girl wearing purple T- Shirt. The following year she appeared in the family movie Grand Champion. After her work in Grand Champion she kept her self away from the acting world and concentrated on her academics and singing. She surprised all the viewers by her appearance on the television in 2004 in the Television series of Unfabulous. Later in 2005 she began her career as singer when she recorded the sound tracks of Unfabulous. These soundtracks were also released in the form of album ‘Unfabulous and More’. In Unfabulous she played the role of Addie Singer a high school girl who loves to write songs on her life. She appeared in Unfabolous till the show was last aired on TeenNick on December 16, 2007. This show helped Emma to make her own identity and gain popularity. For her such a great job in Unfabulous, she was nominated for many awards under different categories but unluckily she couldn’t bag the one.
Emma returned to Hollywood with her appearance in the movie Spymate in February 2006. She played the role of child prodigy ‘Amelia Muggins’ who invents new technology laser drill and faced many troubles after being kidnapped in the movie. She appeared in movie Aquamarine in role of Claire Brown, week after the release of Spymate. She was awarded with Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film Supporting Young Actress for her work in Aquamarine. In 2007 she appeared in the movie Nancy Drew in which she played the title role of a high school teen girl Nancy Drew who solves the murder mystery of actor Dehlia Draycott. She was awarded with ShoWest Female Star of Tomorrow in 2007 for her work in movie Nancy Drew.
In 2008 Emma starred in the romantic comedy drama movie Wild Child, which was her only movie released in 2008. She played the lead role of naughty teenage girl Poppy Moore in Wild Child. In year 2009 she appeared in movies ‘Hotel for Dogs’, ‘Lymelife’ and ‘The Winning Season’. In children’s comedy movie Hotel for Dog she appeared in the lead role of an orphan girl child Andie. In Lymelife she appeared as Adrianna Bragg and in The Winning Season as Abbie. Emma worked with her aunt Julia Robert for the second time in movie Valentine’s Day which was premiered in February 2010. She appeared in the role of Molly Norton in the movie ‘Twelve’ which was premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2010. Her appearance as Joanne in movie 4.3.2.1 was very much praised by the film experts. She appeared in the role of Alice Leeds in American Japanese movie Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac in 2010. Apart from her appearance in movies Valentine’s Day, Twelve, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac and 4.3.2.1 she appeared in movies It’s Kind of a Funny Story and What’s Wrong with Virginia in 2010.
Emma after the last episode of Unfabulous appeared in Television series of Jonas L.A episode ‘House Party’ in 2010.In the same year she played the main role in Television series in Take Two with Phineas and Ferb. In 2011 she appeared in the Television Reality Show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
So far in 2011, Emma has starred in movies The Art of Getting By and Scream 4. She performed the role of Sally ,a high school girl in The Art of Getting and as Jill Roberts in Scream4.
Emma Roberts was ranked 78th in 2010 Hot 100 List of Maxim magazine. In Teen’s Vogue Magazine she was ranked 5th in the List of Teen Best Dressed in May 2010. She was ranked 3rd in March 2010, 3rd in February 2009, 5th in December 2008, 7th in September 2008 and 10th in June 2007 in the Teen Vogue Magazine’s List of Teen Best Dressed.
